Cubonic and FEV enter into partnership to develop VCU application software

CUBONIC and FEV agree on a partnership to develop software for the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) for the powertrain functions of the PeopleMover and CargoMover eLCV prototypes developed and manufactured by CUBONIC.

Pulheim, July 6, 2023 – CUBONIC, a pioneer in the field of sustainable, customizable solutions for automated and autonomous electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs), has found a standard-setting partner in FEV, a leading global development service provider, for the development of software for the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) for the powertrain functions of the PeopleMover and CargoMover eLCV prototypes developed and manufactured by CUBONIC. As part of this partnership, FEV will develop and provide the VCU software for the advanced prototypes of the CUBONIC vehicle architecture.

CUBONIC develops highly customizable electric LCV solutions that offer automated and autonomous driving, seamless connectivity with their customers' ecosystems, and improved productivity and profitability. CUBONIC's customer-centric approach involves customers in the design of the modular vehicle architecture from the outset, enabling a wide range of applications for CUBONIC's PeopleMover and CargoMover vehicles.

FEV will leverage its experience as a leading global engineering service provider in vehicle and powertrain development and digital mobility to work with CUBONIC to develop VCU application software for controlling vehicle functions, including in the powertrain domain of the PeopleMover and CargoMover prototypes.
