CUBONIC partners with Punch Powertrain for supply of Electric Drive Units

• Strategic partnership agreed between CUBONIC and Punch Powertrain to integrate and supply electric drive units in CUBONIC's light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) PeopleMover and CargoMover.
• Punch Powertrain's expertise in electric drive development will accelerate the development of CUBONIC's last mile transport solutions.

CUBONIC, a pioneer in sustainable, customisable automated and autonomous electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) solutions, and Punch Powertrain, a developer and manufacturer of innovative and sustainable conventional, hybrid and electric powertrain solutions, have entered into a strategic partnership to develop and manufacture CUBONIC's PeopleMover and CargoMover eLCVs. Under the partnership, Punch Powertrain will support the integration of its Electric Drive Units into the CUBONIC vehicle architecture.

 

The partnership with Punch Powertrain allows CUBONIC to drive the development of its unique PeopleMover and CargoMover solutions while working with an agile and innovative provider of sustainable propulsion solutions. CUBONIC will benefit from Punch Powertrain's expertise in developing mobility applications.

 

CUBONIC develops highly customisable electric LCV solutions that offer automated and autonomous driving, seamless connectivity with its customers' ecosystems, and improved productivity and profitability. CUBONIC's customers are involved in the design of the modular vehicle architecture from the outset, giving them a wide range of possible applications for CUBONIC's PeopleMover and CargoMover vehicles.

 

Punch Powertrain builds on more than 10 years of experience in the development of electric drive solutions, consistently investing in research and development worldwide and working with state-of-the-art testing facilities. Punch Powertrain will use its expertise in the development and production of drive systems for New Energy vehicles to support the integration of the Electric Drive Units into CUBONIC's vehicle architecture. These will be incorporated into the company's advanced prototypes at its new site in Pulheim-Brauweiler, Germany.
